About Pastor Rodney & Stephanie Beard

Rodney Beard
This Shreveport, La. native grew up in a loving home with parents who instilled in him the values of love, integrity and strong character. Like many of you reading this now, he made some decisions in life that veered him away from those lessons. However, it was during his years at Shreveport Bible College that his life began to change.  While sitting in class in an unacceptable and degraded state of mere existence, he was at a point in his life where he wanted to give up on school, family, church and society.  His Homiletics professor, the late Dr. L.D. Scott, taught him his first faith principle and encouraged him to 'stick it out' then gave him a passage of Scripture to preach from for a class assignment.  The scripture was Romans 5:8-12, and it proved to be life-changing.  Pastor Beard never forgot this moment, and it's the compassion that was shown to him through an anointed vessel of God and the truth of God's Word that fuels his Kingdom oriented ministry right now. 

For those who feel hopeless or those who have come to recognize that they are simply not living God's best right now, Pastor Beard wants to be there as their Shepherd to provide encouragement, "edification and comfort" through teaching them sound biblical principles that are really life-changing!  For many who have witnessed this already, his passion and real love for the Ministry and the Church body are undeniable and it's with this, that he and his wife Stephanie are working to carry out the vision set for our church…empowering the Saints for the coming Kingdom!

Stephanie Beard's passion to live a life of Zoë (the God kind of life) and ministry is highly contagious. (Galatians 3:11-12, Habakkuk 2:4)  She has dedicated her life to building the kingdom of God and demonstrates her commitment by serving as leader of Christian Education and ministries for women and teens.  Having been raised in a single parent household, Stephanie understands the circumstances and challenges of life that surrounds single women with children. Her heart's desire is to spiritually connect with women and young girls in a loving and supportive way, which she hopes will catapult them into functioning in their God-given purpose. In addition, she seeks to provide educational resources and teachings that minister the importance of serving others in the Spirit of Christ. Her love for God's Word and His people inspire her service to the to the Nashville community by sitting on various committees and boards. As founder of "Girl Talk," she frequently meets with inner-city teenage girls at the Martha O'Bryan Community Center, as wells as the teen girls of LWCC, to provide spiritual, personal and leadership skills, as well as social guidance that will enable them to make responsible life choices.

She is a graduate of Belmont University's Ministry program where she received her B.S. degree. As an alumna, Stephanie remains active in the Belmont community by serving on the University College Alumni Committee that plans ministry activities for adult students.

As a loving and supporting wife, Stephanie Beard has devoted her life to assisting her husband in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world while unifying the Body of Christ.

Rodney and Stephanie as Pastors, along with the entire Living Word Community Church family, are focused on meeting the needs of the Nashville community through their service that impact every area of life. While their commitment to the local community is strong, Living Word Community Church’s global impact is also building as we sow into many areas of need such as Living Hope Community Centre in South Africa; a ministry of support to AIDS victims.  Nationally, we are able to plant seed in organizations such as Modest Needs in New York, which gives freely to the poor and provides "modest needs" on a daily basis for the most indigent of our society. There is a new generation rising at Living Word Community Church - A Generation of True Kingdom Builders that is bent on glorifying God by being true witnesses in these last days. Rodney and Stephanie Beard are proven leaders for this generation - a generation that believes the Word of God and Stands on it!
