Soon after, he founded a home-based Bible study group with several colleagues from Saturn. With the inviting scent of Cajun dishes as a backdrop, the group rapidly grew, drawing individuals eager for a more intimate scripture experience. Recognizing the need for more space, Pastor Beard collaborated with a local church. This partnership led to the founding of The Living Word Community Church in November 1994, under Bishop Ralph Houston's guidance, starting with three dedicated members. Pastor Rodney Beard Sr. Hailing from Shreveport, LA, felt the divine pull of his ministerial calling and followed it to Nashville, TN in 1990. His deep spiritual acumen, acting as a conduit between the divine and our temporal world, in the spirit of Matthew 6:10, has distinguished him as a unique presence in Nashville. He's consistently recognized for his deep affection for God's flock, his unwavering dedication to sound doctrinal teaching, and the vision he possesses for spiritual matters. In 1994, Pastor Beard sowed the seeds for what would become the Living Word Community Church. It began humbly with Bible discussions during his breaks at Saturn Corporation, which later evolved into more structured sessions at his condo's clubhouse. Guided by his steady hand, the church burgeoned with a core principle: to embrace God deeply, to hold His Word in reverence, and to indulge in genuine worship. Under Pastor Beard's warm and caring leadership, the church not only grew in numbers but also in its sense of unity and love, welcoming both long-time members and spiritual seekers alike. His spiritual compass was set early on, drawing from the deep well of faith and kindness exhibited by his parents. Pastor Beard embarked on rigorous spiritual training, always with a heart set on serving for the glorification of God. He ardently desires to share with others the depth of love found in the radiant holiness of God. Outside the pulpit, Pastor Beard's interests are diverse.
